What would you do if you knew you couldn't fail?

the owned newsletter #9

hey fam

Guess what I have for you this week?

You guessed it!

More opportunities to own your focus and choices. 👈

Keep your main focus in mind as you dig into this week’s newsletter.

Question of the week 🤔

“What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?”

This is more of a thought exercise than anything.

Nobody knows what the future will hold, but sometimes the hidden programs of our mind will put artificial limitations on us without us even knowing it. 😱

A great way to break through those limitations is by asking this question.

Step outside of your rational mind for a moment and play with it.

Be more selfish if you want to help others

One thing I see time and time again from my high achieving 1 on 1 clients (and well everyone) is that we will move mountains to do what’s best for other people, but we struggle to always do what’s best for ourselves.

👉 If you want your family to be healthier, then master your own health first.

👉 If you want people to be kinder to each other; be kinder to yourself first.

👉 Whatever you want for others, needs to start within you.

Your relationship with yourself is the #1 relationship you have to manage and if you’re not giving yourself the love you need then you will be operating from a deficit when you try to help others.

So uhh.. yea..be more selfish. Let me know how it goes 😉

Self-care

Speaking of being more selfish..

Start with a self-care routine.

This can look like..

💪 Exercising

📖 Reading

🏃‍♀️ Going on walks alone

🥑 Eating nutritious foods

🧘‍♂️ Meditating (I got you) 👇

🎨 Playing (dive back into one of your old favorite hobbies)

These things may seem like luxuries to those of us who live really busy lives, but the truth is these are actually non negotiables if we want to live fully integrated balanced lives.

Start treating your self-care like a non-negotiable and watch as your happiness sky rockets. 🚀

Financial Investments 🤑

When most people hear “ financial investment” they think about buying stocks, crypto or putting money away in their mutual fund.

Those are all great way to build long-term wealth, but they aren’t the only ways to do so.

Personally, I have learned that the best financial investments for me are building new business assets that I can monetize in the future.

For example, my meditation app.

I invested $5k a few years ago into getting this built and last month the app made me $1k in a single month. Thanks to all of you who support me :)

I share this only to open your mind to what’s possible.

Sometimes the best financial investments are learning new skills that can be used to get a higher paying job in the future.

Your finances can grow exponentially when you are willing to think outside of the box.

Have fun with this.

Getting emotionally triggered

Has someone ever said something to you that made you feel completely outraged?

What if I told you that you were responsible for your outrage and it had nothing to do with what the person said?

That person may have said something that you perceive as terrible, but your emotional reaction to it stems from a wound that you have not yet healed.

This is a hard pill for most people to swallow, but this is exactly the mindset you need to have if you want to experience consistent inner peace. 👈

Whenever you get emotionally triggered ask yourself “what am I believing to be true that would make me feel this way?”

Dig deep enough and you will find your own wound that needs healing.

Once that wound is healed you no longer have a button for people to push that will trigger you.

This is deep work I’m talking about here, so be patient and kind with yourself as you dive in.

Clear your plate 🍽️

Are you feeling overwhelmed?

If so, start by clearing your plate with this exercise..

✅ Make a list of all your responsibilities (work, family, misc. life stuff, etc)

Then organize this list from most important at the top to least important at the bottom.

Finally, remove the things on the bottom of your list.

It doesn’t mean you can’t do these things later on.

Just put them on the back burner for now.

You can do anything you want, but you can’t do everything at the same time.

Ya dig? 🤩

That’s it for this week.

Own your focus. Own your choices. Own your life!

All the best,

Brandon
